Meet Keita
"Creativity is more than just an outlet—it's a journey of self-discovery and healing. Whether through the power of song or the beauty of a painting, my goal is to help you find your voice and express your true self. Together, we’ll explore the transformative power of art in our vibrant community in a supportive and nurturing environment."

Hi! I'm Keita, a local Mum, singer, artist, and all-around creative.
My artistic inclinations began at a young age, influenced by my grandmother, who was an artist. I've always found peace and healing in creativity, whether in the quiet of a sketchbook or the power of music to move emotions.
Although I am a passionate vocal coach, I want to be upfront that I'm not a trained musician. My background is in theatre, so while I love singing and teaching vocal techniques, I’m not a pianist. My focus is on helping you find and refine your voice.
My journey in the arts began at age 11 when I passed the audition for Leeds Cathedral Choir and performed with my school's ‘Madrigal’ group in the UK. My formative years were filled with music, singing 3 to 5 evenings per week, and participating in numerous choir tours, including two international tours through France. I also completed my art GCSEs a year early in the UK because pretty much all I wanted to do in my free time was draw, paint, or sing.
At 16, I moved to Pemberton and, to my angsty teenage dismay, found little to no arts in the town then. This personal experience drives my passion for bringing the arts community together here. There's nothing quite as healing for the soul as belting out a good song, dancing your heart out, or finding peace in painting. Art is integral to the human experience, and Pemberton needs more!
Through my late teens and early 20s, I performed in bands, singing pop/rock and even a bit of country (yes, even though I'm British! cringe haha). My passion for the arts took me from Pemberton to Vancouver and then to London, where I lived and worked in the Theatre industry after attaining a First Class BA Hons in Theatrical Arts. This led to a career in Theatrical Design and Scenic Art for film and TV, and finally, full circle, brought me back to Pemberton right before COVID, where I'm now raising my three children in our lovely town.
Now I run a small art business, creating and selling mixed media fine art paintings and prints, heavily inspired by nature and her cycles. I love exploring the relationship between spiritual experience, human emotion, and nature in my paintings. Beauty calms the mind, and art should infuse and enhance our experience of everyday life. My passion for creativity isn’t just about the end result of painting or singing; it's about the incredible healing power of creativity. Whether that’s by transforming your environment with a beautiful painting, exploring your emotions through creative practices, or building your confidence through learning how to use your voice.
In addition to my artistic pursuits, I have extensive experience teaching both children and adults. I strive to create a fun yet structured environment for singers to learn how to use their voices as instruments. We work on pitch, breath, projection, diction, performance, range, and more. My goal is to help you understand your voice, gain confidence, and express yourself through singing and performance. I hold an up-to-date police check, ensuring a safe and professional setting for all my students.
Furthermore, I aim to foster a light-hearted yet structured environment for artists of all levels and ages to explore art, learn new techniques, and come together as a community to do something both relaxing and fun. I also offer corporate workshops and team-building events, providing creative outlets that enhance collaboration and innovation in the workplace.
Whenever I'm not painting in my studio, you can find me pulling funny faces and tickling my kiddos, drinking tea with my sisters, or walking in the trees. Join me in nurturing your artistic talents and building a vibrant arts community in Pemberton.
